Hi there,
We've been busy traveling and we continue to be busy traveling this week. Catch up right now with where we've been and where we're going.
Conferences
Last week we were at DevOpsDays Denver and this week we're at DevOpsDays Seattle! I'm giving a talk titled "Flying v. Driving: Myths, fears, and opportunity when going serverless". My talk covers some of the routine objections around serverless such as AWS reliability, cost, and lack of platform ownership and control. These objections are presented in the context of why I opted to fly to each conference instead of drive. We think the analogy works quite well and we've received some great feedback on the talk already.
While we're here, please consider submitting to DevOpsDays events. Serverless still has a lot of skepticism among the ops community, and compared to Kubernetes and Docker it has little representation. More real world talks about running serverless systems in production would be greatly beneficial. Not sure about submitting? Reach out and I'm happy to discuss coming up with talks to present and writing abstracts based on my experiences.
Coming this week on our blog...
How do operations engineers provide the most value and establish best practices in their organization? The short answer is "infrastructure as code". But what does implementing that in a serverless environment look like and what are we missing?

Have a great week and if you're at DevOpsDays Seattle come say hi! As always, let us know what you think of this email using the thumbs up and thumbs down links at the end of this email.
Cheers,
